Genugten Agri Projects B.V. delivers and installs complete steel structures with timber or steel purlins. Various types of steel profiled sheets, sandwich panels, eco panels but also traditional corrugated sheets are delivered for roof covering. A wide range of insulating materials is available for the roofs, such as glass wool blankets and PU and PS insulating sheets.
To construct the outer walls, Genugten Agri Projects delivers precast insulated concrete elements, sandwich panels and steel profiled sheeting. And for the inner walls of the pig house, we can supply you with different types of plastic sections and panels (PVC) which can be installed in stainless steel profiles.
In the text below a few of the available options for each building section will be reviewed. Besides the options below, there are numerous other possibilities regarding the use of materials in the construction. If you would like to receive more information about the construction/renovation of your farm or the delivery of materials, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help you.
Steel purlins
The use of steel purlins allows a larger span between the steel structure. As a result, fewer frames are needed and they can be placed further apart. In that event, the departments in the pig house can be made bigger. Steel purlins, which can be used for spans of 6 to 10 meters, are light and are easy to install.
Roofing
Steel profiled sheets
Genugten Agri Projects B.V. supplies steel profiled roofing sheets. In addition to the advantage that steel profile plates have a lower weight, they are also suitable for a larger purlin distance of 1.5 to 1.8 meters. Furthermore, the price per m² roof is lower than with conventional corrugated sheets because it is no longer necessary to take a 15% overlap into account. If required by the customer, the sheets can be supplied with a thick plastisol coating in various colors. The coating is guaranteed for 10 years. The sheets are delivered in lengths of up to 15 meters, enabling very fast installation. If, due to local regulations, corrugated sheets must be installed, black steel corrugated sheets can be supplied. Glass wool insulation blankets are the most suited for roofs with steel profiled sheets.
Sandwich and eco panels
If the roof needs to be insulated, you can opt for sandwich or eco panels. The most commonly used panel thickness is 60 mm, but 40 and 80 mm are also possible. High-quality insulation is obtained with these panels. In addition to the quick assembly, the use of these panels allows a greater purlin distance, which can further save on assembly costs. The sandwich panels have steel profiled sheets of various thicknesses and coating materials on both sides. The eco panels have an aluminum foil on the inner side instead of a steel profile plate. This makes these panels less expensive, but this is partly offset by the extra cost of the shorter purlin distance.
Corrugated sheeting
Although traditional corrugated sheets are used less and less, Genugten Agri Projects still supplies the complete range of asbestos-free fiber cement corrugated sheets with all necessary accessories and fastening materials.
Roof insulation
Modern pig houses are fitted with a “Soft-Air” ventilation ceiling. By using this ceiling, there is no heat loss through the roof during colder periods which means you save on the heating costs. In this situation, roof insulation is only necessary to prevent the air above the ceiling from heating up too much during hot days. Genugten Agri Projects B.V. supplies a wide range of insulating materials for roofs and ceilings.
Glass wool insulation blankets
With this method of insulation (glass wool insulation blankets), which are provided with a foil on their undersides, are placed over the purlins. The steel profiled sheets are installed directly on top of the glass wool insulation blankets. This results in a so-called ‘cold roof’ structure, which means that the temperature of the roofing sheets rises and falls with the outside temperature. This prevents condensation on the underside of the sheets. This use of insulation blankets is not possible in combination with fiber cement corrugated sheets, because these sheets require ventilation on the underside of the sheets. When using corrugated sheets, it is therefore necessary that a batten is mounted on top of these insulation blankets and the corrugated sheets are installed on top of the battens. Genugten Agri supplies glass wool insulation blankets of various thicknesses, lengths and in widths of 100 and 120 cm.
PU insulation sheets
These well-known insulation sheets, provided with alukraft foil on both sides, are widely used in the agricultural sector. These sheets are strong, available in various thicknesses and easy to install. The sheets can be delivered with flat sides, making them suitable for use with plastic H-profiles, or with rebates, causing them to partly overlap. These sheets have a good insulation value and are easy to clean. When using a “Soft-Air” ventilation ceiling, a sheet thickness of 30 mm is sufficient for roof insulation. If these insulation sheets are used in combination with another ventilation system, which works via the ceiling, a thickness of 60 mm must be chosen.
PS insulation sheets
PS insulation sheets can also be used for roof insulation. These polystyrene sheets have a lower insulation value and are much cheaper than higher quality insulation sheets. Furthermore, higher density polystyrene sheets are available in the most common thicknesses of 40, 50 and 60 mm.
Outer walls
More and more companies prefer to use precast concrete elements. These concrete elements can be supplied with various gravel and brick patterns. The fast construction method enables a lot of time to be saved when using these elements. In addition, these elements enable a very high quality building to be made. These concrete walls are available in different thicknesses, depending on the desired insulation. All the necessary openings for windows, inlet valves and doors are already made in the panels during production.
Inner walls
The multifunctional plastic inner walls are easy to install. They are finished with stainless steel profiles. These plastic walls are made of first quality PVC and have a thickness of 35 mm. They are available in different heights in the colors light grey and off-white. Instead of PVC sections, PE panels – which are more stable – can be used to create plastic walls. These panels are 1 meter wide and 50 mm thick.
